We are talking about streamer fishing, the wooly bugger dance, some call it an addiction, some call it a way of life.Streaamer fishing tips & tricks

Whether you are a beginner fly fisherman or an avid maestro of rainbow trout, here are a few streamer fishing tips and tricks that anyone can use to create for themselves a top-notch streamer experience.  Let us help make sure the fish are striking that streamer throughout the day.

Always fish downstream

This might come as a surprise to those who have learned that fishing upstream is the only way to get to the fish before they are spooked.  However, an of the important streamer fishing tips is to make sure you are letting the current work with, instead of against you.  Wade to the middle of the river and cast towards the shore, stripping the fly back below you.  If you are close to the shore, fish out towards the middle of the river and strip the streamer till it ends up a few inches from the shoreline.

 Stripping is important

Stripping is just as important as placing the fly in the correct hole or behind that perfect rock.  Try not to let the line build up by your reel, instead, try and create a motion that brings the streamer back and forth which will give it the appearance of life.  Pull your line, then let the streamer pull the line back out in a quick continuous motion.
