Most of the lodges on this list are plush by any standard. But none goes so far as Quemquemtreu Lodge, which offers each guest private bathrooms, fireplaces, and dining rooms in spacious double-bedroom suites. Nor does that come at the expense of a communal atmosphere—guests can enjoy snacks and drinks in a cozy bar area, which includes pool for those who know how to shoot. With access to two excellent trout rivers on its massive estancia, Quemquemtreu Lodge is a great option, and larger parties especially may enjoy the extra private space. San Huberto is fairly typical of the lodges that topped our polls. A cozy main house with wi fi, bar, dining, and social areas; a spacious estancia with big stretches of private river. Unlike Tipiliuke, San Huberto is a fishing lodge exclusively: no horseback, no hiking, no trips to town. Continue reading San Huberto Lodge Wins Best Fishing→

They were also recognized in a travel guide by Taschen, a German publisher of premium-grade art books—the kinds of books that cost more than the coffee table they’re decorating. That’s a good indicator of the price and quality of a stay at Tipiluke Lodge, where it’s immediately evident what you’re getting for the top-dollar bill. Continue reading Tipiliuke Wins Best Lodge→
